HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!!!

Yes, it's my birthday today and I had a wonderful day! All the close people in my life called me up to wish me a happy birthday and I felt sooooo special! Then at work, they threw me a surprise party, video taped it and gave me the tape as a gift. I think that was really cool. Some of my students made me cards and all of them sang to me. It was just a nice day and I am very grateful to have made it to see another year.

So let's not stop there, keep the birthday wishes comin'! I'm celebrating my birthday for this whole week so don't feel bad if you are reading this post a few days after the 20th.

Well, I'm off to pop open a bottle of champagne and celebrate the rest of the night .

Yea Me!!

Well, I did it! I survived this past semester! It was a lot harder that I thought. I breezed through biology, chemistry, physics etc. and thought it would be a similar feat, but boy was I wrong. My text book was huuuge and heeeeavy and glued to my hip. It was too heavy to carry in by back pack, so I carried it in my hand 24/7. I read every chance I got, and believe me, that was not easy while trying to balance that with work. I survived though and that's the best part. I passed both courses (pharmacology and fundamentals of nursing). It was hard to celebrate my victory on the day we got our scores, when I saw some of my close friends in tears after finding out that they had failed. It's not an easy road and I felt so sad for my friends, but I am very, very happy for me. THE HARD WORK PAID OFF! Now it's on to Med-Surge for September. I'm going to get the text next week so I can start reading ahead.

On another note, my son will be coming home next month. I'm really looking forward to that. I will not be sending him back to my mom in September. I will be enrolling him back in school here. He really doesn't want to go back and I won't force him. He's been very good for the past 2 years and I think that's enough sacrifice for 1 kid. Also, my sister will be staying with me for a while, so she will be able to help.

Lastly, things are still going great with my boyfriend. He is absolutely wonderful, I feel very blessed. We went to look at rings last month which was an absolute thrill for me! I've never done anything like this before, but, of course, its something I've ALWAYS dreamed of. I really am looking forward to spending my life with him. I love him, and even better, he loves me back! I am very fortunate to have found my soulmate just when I started to lose hope. Love is wonderful when it's returned. I am truly happy and pray that this will be it.
